Wehrner Lemmer
Wehrner is a sculptor, designer and craftsman who has been exploiting the various characteristics and expressive language of wood & metal since the 1980’s. He completed the National Higher Diploma at the Port Elizabeth Technikon in 1985 and the National Higher Diplma in Sculpture (cum laude) in 1988. His research dissertation on South African hardwoods entitled ‘South African Hardwoods and their suitability for wood carving’ was chosen by the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.(USA) as part of their African Studies exhibition in 1999.

was selected by the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C. to form part of the “African Studies” exhibition.
Career Development
1989-91
Lived and worked in England where he studied the contemporary art scene.
Produced and sold sculptures in Israel and England.
Visited the Netherlands,France, Spain, Israel, Kenia and Malawi.
1992-99
Managed own Studio for the design and manufacturing of metal furniture,
lamps and Object D’art.
2000
Full time sculptor.
